Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
Casa Cadence is an app for running a household: recurring chores, home maintenance, kids' jobs, shared lists, recipes, meal plans and shopping lists. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, who we share it with and how you delete it. The short version: we use your data only to run the app for you. We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and we don't use it to train AI models.
Who we are
“Casa Cadence,” “we” and “us” mean the operator of casacadence.com and app.casacadence.com. [TODO: legal entity name and postal address.] Contact: hello@casacadence.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and name. We don't use passwords. You sign in with a passkey or a one-time link we email you.
- Household data you enter: households and their members (including children's names, which a parent enters), roles, tasks and schedules, areas, items, notes, service contacts, files you upload (like manuals, receipts and warranties), shopping lists, recipes, meal plans, purchase details, points and rewards.
- Calendar data, only if you connect a calendar: see Calendar connections.
- Technical data: basic request logs (IP address, browser type, time and the page requested) kept by our hosting provider for security and to fix problems.
- Payments (later): if we add paid plans, payments will be handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We get only what we need to manage your subscription, such as its status.
How we use it
- To provide the app: show your tasks, send sign-in links, run task schedules, and manage recipes, meals and shopping lists.
- To keep it secure: prevent abuse, investigate problems, and enforce roles and kids mode.
- To reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, show ads, build advertising profiles, or use your data (including any Google user data) to train AI or machine-learning models.
Calendar connections (Google, Microsoft, iCloud)
Calendar connections are planned and are not available yet. The following describes the intended use if this feature launches; the current app does not collect these provider credentials. Connecting a calendar will be optional. If you do, Casa Cadence uses that access only to read and write the calendar events you choose to sync with your household: showing events next to your tasks, and creating, changing or deleting events you edit in Casa Cadence.
- Google Calendar: with your permission through Google's sign-in screen, we access your calendar list and events for the calendars you pick, using the Google Calendar API.
- Outlook / Microsoft 365: with your permission, we access calendar events through Microsoft Graph.
- iCloud: you give us an app-specific password that you create in your Apple account. We use it only to sync calendars over CalDAV.
Access tokens and app-specific passwords are stored encrypted. Synced events are stored with your household so other members can see them. Events you mark private show only as “Busy.” We don't read your email, contacts or files at these providers. You can disconnect a calendar at any time in the app, which deletes its stored credentials and the copies of its events, and you can also revoke access in your Google Account or Microsoft account settings.
Casa Cadence's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, we use Google user data only to provide the calendar features you can see in the app. We don't transfer it except as needed to provide those features, for security, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or sale with your prior consent. People don't read it unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it's needed for security, or the law requires it. We never use it for ads or to train AI models.
Who can see your data
- Your household: members see what their role allows. Helpers see only the tasks assigned to them.
- Shared links: a shared list is visible to anyone who has its link. Task links show task titles, areas, items, due dates and whether they're done. Shopping links show shopping rows and may include purchase links when enabled. Public links exclude private notes, contacts, files, prices and points. Every link expires within 90 days, and you can turn one off at any time.
- Service providers who run the app for us, only to provide it: Cloudflare (hosting on Workers, database on D1, file storage on R2, and email sending), and Stripe for payments if we add paid plans.
- Legal reasons: if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety.
Children's privacy
Casa Cadence is meant for adults running a household. Children under 13 don't create accounts and can't sign in. A parent or guardian adds a child's profile (such as a first name, their jobs, points and rewards) and manages it. In kids mode, a child uses a parent's device to see and check off their own jobs. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Parents can manage their children's profiles in the app. Household owners can export household records and files from Account. Owners can also permanently delete a household from Account. Adults can also delete their account and personally owned shopping lists from Account. For other data requests, email hello@casacadence.com.
Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies: one that keeps you signed in and one that keeps a device in kids mode. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and this website sets no cookies.
Where data lives and how it's protected
Your data is stored with Cloudflare and encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Calendar connections and encrypted storage for their credentials are planned. See Security for more.
Your choices and rights
- Export: household owners can download a ZIP of one selected household's records and files from Account. This includes shopping lists shared with that household or attached to its tasks. Unrelated personal lists, sign-in credentials and live sharing tokens are excluded. Larger or other data requests can be sent to hello@casacadence.com.
- Correct: edit anything you entered, right where it's shown.
- Delete: household owners can permanently delete a selected household from Account after a recent sign-in and typed confirmation. Its records, memberships and public task links are removed; stored files are removed with durable retries if storage is unavailable. Personal shopping lists, their quantities and public shopping-list links remain with their owners, while the deleted household's sharing grants and task connections disappear. Accounts, subscriptions and profiles used elsewhere remain. Account deletion is a separate confirmed action. It removes your sign-in, email, passkeys and all shopping lists you own, including shared lists and their public links. You leave households, whose content remains. Another signed-in owner and explicit subscription ownership handoff are required where applicable. Shared history and necessary subscription references may keep de-identified profile/application IDs that cannot sign in or be reclaimed. You can download personal lists as JSON first. Saved passkeys may need to be removed from your devices. For other data requests, contact hello@casacadence.com. Previously retained backups and request logs are not erased immediately; operational backup retention and restore verification are still being completed.
- Depending on where you live, you may have other rights, such as to access or object to processing. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. Request logs are kept for up to 30 days. When you delete something, it's removed as described above.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how we use your data, including Google user data, we'll tell you in the app or by email and ask for your consent before it applies.
